Breathtaking performance at Silverstone
Extra makes world champions

The recent aerobatic world championship 2009 in Silverstone, England has turned into a breathtaking success for our racy top performer aircraft. Five of the first ten top ranking pilots have achieved their successes with the help of their Extra aircraft. The ruling aerobatic world champion in the classic and free stile competitions, Renaud Ecalle flew to victory in an Extra 330SC.

For some time already, experts speaking off the record had expected the combination of Renaud Ecalle and the Extra 330 SC to be a tough nut to crack for the competition at Silverstone. And that's exactly what happened.

With his double success as world champion in both, the classic and free stile disciplines, Renauld showed a very high degree of physical and mental resilience under the pressures of a world championship and in front of a large audience

However – even the best aerobatic pilot can't win the world championship without the world's best aerobatic aircraft. And this was precisely what Renaud Ecalle was flying: The 330SC. His perfect, brand spanking new aircraft from the factory of aerobatics Old Master Walter Extra made the aircraft of his competitors look "old" in the true meaning of the word. And here's where all Extra pilots agree: the combination of performance and handling qualities of the aircraft coming from our shop at Dinslaken, Germany are presently unsurpassed.

Small wonder therefore that all of us here at Extra Flugzeugproduktion are over the moon with the recent successes at Silverstone, since they prove impressively the high technical and quality standards of Extra aircraft. As of now the Extra 330SC is the benchmark that all other manufacturers of aerobatic aircraft will have to match. We have once again raised the bar a little more, and that's something we're all proud of.

Extra Aircraft adds Aspen Avionics to EXTRA 300/L, /LP & /LC

On August 7th, 2008 the installation of an Aspen EFD1000 PFD using the Pilot software was EASA certified for the EA 300/L /LP /LC model.

Extra Aircraft announces a new dealer for the Western US

July 1, 2009 Extra Aircraft has entered into an agreement with US Aero to represent Extra Aircraft in the Western US.  US Aero has offices in Denver, CO and Long Beach, CA.
